Derek Gottfrid

Derek Gottfrid currently serves as the Global Head of Engineering at Paxos since May 2017, and has held advisory roles at Timehop since January 2015 and Bonobos from 2014 to May 2017. Previously, Derek was the Chief Product Officer and Senior Vice President of Product at CLEAR from May 2021 to February 2025, and co-founded Caisson from January 2018 to February 2022. Experience also includes founding Umi Kitchen in 2016, serving as VP of Product & Engineering at Tumblr from 2012 to 2014, and as Director of Product at the same company from 2010 to 2011. Additionally, Derek spent over a decade at The New York Times as a Senior Software Architect and Product Technologist. Education was completed at Boston University.
