Dehan Smit is an experienced technical professional with a strong background in integration and support roles. Currently serving as a Technical Integrations Engineer at Pay@ since August 2022, Dehan previously led the Integration Team and Product/Technical Support Desk at Yoyo from March 2017 to August 2022. Prior to that, Dehan worked as a Product Support Analyst, assisting clients and POS providers with the integration into the wiGroup Platform, and as a Service Desk Agent, addressing client queries related to various services. Earlier experience includes roles as an IT Technician at Spinnaker Software and a Customer Support Technician at Arch Retail Systems, where Dehan provided technical support and troubleshooting for retail hardware and software. Dehan completed high school education at Brackenfell High School from 2009 to 2013.

Pay@ is a well-established and trusted bill and payment aggregator with operations in South Africa and several other African countries. We process millions of transactions a month (at a highly efficient rate of less than 0.01% queries per transaction) and our various services are designed to enable customers to pay their bills securely and conveniently via various payment networks / channels. Payment networks extend across retailers, digital solutions, banking institutions, wallets, and informal vendors and include various payment methods for both banked and unbanked individuals (cash, EFT, credit cards, debit cards, and mobile money). Also, the ability to deliver a bill as effectively as possible is very important for bill payments and in this regard Pay@ has a mix of proprietary and 3rd party bill presentment services, including interoperable QR code, sms, in-app, web, email, ‘Pay Now’ buttons, WhatsApp, USSD, and a barcode for hardcopy bills.
