Sophia Chen

Sophia Chen has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Sophia started their career in 2011 at Gramercy Surgery Center, Inc., where they worked as a Patient Care Representative and later as a Scheduling Coordinator and Pre-Cert Coordinator. In 2017, they joined Fullstack Academy of Code as a Teaching Fellow and Software Engineer. Sophia also worked as a Freelance Developer, Designer, and Photographer for a short period. Starting in 2017, Sophia worked at Provenir as a Web Developer and later as a Full Stack Developer. Their responsibilities at Provenir included creating custom components and directives, coordinating with QA teams, and creating documentation. Most recently, they joined Payer Sciences in 2019 and has held positions of increasing responsibility, including Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer and Associate Director of Product Development, and currently serves as a Senior Full Stack Engineer and Director of Product Development.

Sophia attended Fullstack Academy in the year 2016, where they completed an immersive course known as the NERDS Stack as an immersive student.

From 2007 to 2011, Sophia studied at Baruch College, majoring in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing.

During the academic year of 2008 to 2009, Sophia participated in a year-long study abroad program at Sophia University. Sophia pursued a minor degree in International Business and Japanese.

In addition to their formal education, Sophia obtained certifications in various fields. In September 2023, they completed the course "AI Show: The Basics of Prompt Engineering with Azure OpenAI Service" offered by LinkedIn. Sophia also holds a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from Scrum Alliance, which they earned in October 2021.
