Gagan Malhotra

Gagan Malhotra is a Principal Machine Learning Engineer/Scientist at PayPal, having joined the company in August 2025. Prior to PayPal, Gagan served as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Plaid from May 2024 to August 2025 and held multiple roles at SoFi from November 2019 to May 2024, where responsibilities included user behavior sequence modeling, lifetime value estimation, and developing personalized machine learning algorithms. Gagan also gained experience at Unity as a Senior Data Scientist focusing on conversion rate prediction for video ads and personalized ad-serving algorithms, as well as at IBM as a Software Developer Intern. Gagan holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics from the University of Mumbai.
