Steven began their career as the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager at L J Nathan Optical, where they oversaw retail store roll-outs and inventory management.
Steven Furman obtained their Bachelor of Optometry (Honors) degree in Applied Science from the University of Johannesburg in the period from 1991 to 1995. Later, in 1997 to 1998, they pursued an MBA degree focusing on Finance & Entrepreneurship at Bond University. Additionally, in 2013, they completed a certificate program titled "Grow to Greatness: Smart Growth for Private Businesses" offered by the University of Virginia through Coursera.
