Aniket Karekar

Aniket Karekar is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data privacy and information security. Currently serving as Director and Privacy Officer at PayU since December 2023, Aniket leads the development and implementation of the Data Privacy program in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) and relevant RBI regulations. Prior to PayU, Aniket held the position of Associate Vice President at HDFC Life, overseeing IT risk management, data privacy, and business continuity management, and was responsible for executing a comprehensive Data Privacy program aligned with the DPDPA. Aniket also has significant experience from roles at EY, where responsibilities included IT security compliance and audits, and early career experience during an internship at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited focused on business continuity management. Aniket's educational background includes an MBA in Information Technology Business Management from Symbiosis Center for Information Technology and a GNIIT in Computer Software Engineering from NIIT.
