Michael McDonald has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michael started their career at Sport Chek as an Assistant Manager from March 1997 to June 2003. Michael then joined Ceridian Canada Ltd in October 2002 and held roles as a QA Analyst from October 2002 to January 2007 and as a Technical Analyst II from January 2007 to January 2015. During this time, they collaborated with various teams such as Product Management, Business Analyst, Customer Care, and Product Development. Michael provided feedback on known issues, presented customer issues to Product Management, and ensured quick and accurate resolution for Customer Care. In 2014, they ventured into entrepreneurship and founded their own company, Michael Sean McDonald, where they served as the CEO until February 2018. Currently, they are working as a Product Support Analyst at Payworks Payroll Services Canada, starting from March 2015.

Michael McDonald (he/him) pursued their education at various institutions, starting with CDI College in 2000. From the year 2000 to 2001, they undertook a Programmer Analyst/ISD program at CDI College, focusing on Information Technology. Following this, they enrolled at Red River College Polytechnic for the period from 2008 to 2012. During this time, Michael completed a degree in Quality Systems Management & Applications, although the field of study is unspecified. In more recent years, from 2023 to 2026, they returned to Red River College Polytechnic for a Project Management program, specializing in Information Technology.
