Emma van der Zanden

Emma van der Zanden is a researcher at the Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving (PBL) since February 2020, focusing on the interactions between agriculture, food, and the physical environment. Prior to this role, Emma served as a program coordinator and lecturer at the University of Amsterdam's Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies from August 2018 to February 2020, and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam’s Earth Sciences department from July 2015 to April 2018. Emma's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Environmental Geography from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a Master's in Physical Geography from Utrecht University, and a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus on Earth Sciences and Human Geography from the University of Amsterdam. Additionally, Emma has held various teaching and research positions and collaborated with international research groups, highlighting a strong academic and professional background in environmental studies.
