Charles Dean Smith Jr.

Charles Dean Smith, Jr. serves as the Partner-in-charge of the Wilmington, NC office and Tax Partner in the New Bern, NC office at PBMares, LLP, providing corporate and individual tax services with a focus on small business retailers and franchises, including notable clients like NAPA Auto Parts and Dunkin'. Since October 2010, Charles has been a co-owner of Three G and C, LLC, operating three UPS Store locations in Myrtle Beach, SC, and Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Additionally, Charles holds the position of Vice Chair of Financial Performance on the Board of Trustees for the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the National MS Society, supporting nearly 18,000 individuals living with MS in North Carolina and South Carolina. Previous experience includes serving as Senior Tax Director at RSM US LLP from January 1997 to December 2020. Charles holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
