Kamal Kumar Mittal

Chairman & MD at PCM Group of Industries

An alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata is the Chairman and Managing Director of the PCM Group of Industries. An Iconic figure, Mr. Mittal holds several key positions on various regulatory and professional boards. He initiated the PCM journey from PCC Electric Pole manufacturing into Railway Sleeper and further into Steel, real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, tea production and plantation, power generation, and media.

Mr. Mittal’s achievements have been acknowledged at national and international levels. In his career span of over 30 years, Mr. Mittal has been a role model for many and it comes as no surprise that he has been awarded the prestigious CAPEXIL and Entrepreneur of the year award by the Honorable Commerce Minister, Government of India.

Mr. Mittal was also the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) of North Bengal Chapter, Chairman of the North Bengal Tax-Free Zone Committee and he acts as an advisor to the Regional Advisory Committee of Indirect Taxes and the Regional Provident Fund Committee. He is the Chairman of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Siliguri the premier Training Institute of India.

Mr. Mittal established new benchmarks in a public-private partnership to promote the social housing sector. Mr. Mittal is a diehard believer in the collaborative way of doing business and in pursuit of achieving excellence. Apart from corporate pursuits, Mr. Mittal also fulfills his social responsibility towards the society at large and that makes him known to the mass not as a Corporate Tiger taking fierce boardroom battles head-on but as a respected philanthropist.

In addition to their excellent entrepreneurial tradition the Mittal family has also been keenly involved in the promotion of arts, both performing and visual, apart from discharging its social responsibilities towards the underprivileged sections. The family has promoted a football academy in Jalpaiguri town of West Bengal in India with Prestigious Mohan Bagan Club. This Residential Academy will give training to aspiring football players. Besides this, the family has built several schools and colleges in the region.

Mr. Mittal believes in the people power concept and therefore in his free time he would be most often found spending time with his employees and discussing the dynamic corporate arena and would more often than not be found quoting “The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read & write but those cannot learn, unlearn and relearn.”
