Nico Bruining, PhD, FESC, began their career in 1985 at the Thoraxcenter, Department of Cardiology at Erasmus MC, working alongside pioneers in interventional cardiology. They have served as the head of the Department of Experimental and Clinical Information Processing (KEI) since 1993 and are currently the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of the European Heart Journal – Digital Health. Nico holds a degree in Technical Computer Sciences and completed a PhD in 1998, focusing on quantitative 3D echocardiography. They are actively involved in various international cardiology committees and continue to innovate in the field of Digital Health, improving cardiovascular care through technology.
