Hamid Ahmadi

Hamid Ahmadi has extensive experience in the field of engineering, with a focus on digital signal processing (DSP) and telecommunications. Hamid is currently employed at PCTEL as a Senior DSP Engineer, where they develop and implements DSP firmware for scanning receivers used in mobile network planning and interference detection. Prior to this role, Hamid worked as a DSP Engineer at PCTEL, where they were responsible for developing firmware for scanning receivers for various wireless protocols.

Before joining PCTEL, Hamid worked at Availink as a System Engineer. In this role, they designed and implemented firmware for terrestrial and cable digital TV standards. Hamid also helped in debugging system issues reported during field tests or by customers. During their tenure at Availink, Hamid made significant improvements to the channel estimation in DVB-T/T2 and ISDBT standards.

Hamid also has research experience from their time at the University of Rochester. As a Research Assistant, they studied the correlation between sensors' observations and its impact on energy saving in sensors. Hamid also investigated the effect of imperfect channel state information on the reliability of distributed detection systems. Additionally, they designed decision rules considering estimation errors and explored the tradeoff between energy efficiency and detection reliability. Prior to this role, they worked as a Teaching Assistant, assisting in various educational activities.

Earlier in their career, Hamid worked as a Lecturer at Azad University, where they shared their knowledge and expertise with students. Hamid also gained experience as a Telecommunication Engineer at TEC and as a Researcher at ITRC.

Hamid Ahmadi completed their education in the field of electrical engineering and communication systems. Hamid then pursued a Master of Science (MSc.) degree from Sharif University of Technology from 1999 to 2001. Finally, they completed their highest level of education, a Ph.D. degree, at the University of Rochester from 2008 to 2012, specializing in electrical engineering and communication systems.
