Lesley Giles

Lesley Giles, SPHR, has extensive experience in the field of human resources. Lesley currently serves as the Human Resources Director at Element Materials Technology, where they provide strategic HR counsel and direction to team members across America and Asia. Their responsibilities include talent management, implementing HR policies, guiding hiring decisions, and leading acquisition integration work. They also develop and execute compensation and benefits strategies, oversee employee relations, and facilitate training and development programs.

Prior to their current role, Lesley worked as the Human Resource Director at PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, Inc. Here, they were responsible for administering and evaluating the overall human resource function. They conducted annual reviews, ensured compliance with employment legislation, and made recommendations to improve organization policies and procedures. Lesley also served as the Human Resources Manager at the same company.

Before joining PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, Lesley worked as an HR Benefits Administrator at Employer's Plus. They managed personnel, benefits, and payroll for multiple clients and implemented new client onboarding processes. They processed paperwork related to various company benefits, such as vacation/leave policies, benefit plans, and flexible spending accounts.

Earlier in their career, Lesley served as an HR Administrator/Executive Assistant at Maryland Permanent Bank. In this role, they handled various HR functions, including employment, recruiting, employee relations, health and safety, and training and development. They also administered 401K plans and processed benefits-related paperwork.

Lesley started their career as a Human Resources Program Coordinator at Johns Hopkins University. Here, they were responsible for managing records for the annual United Way Campaign and served as a liaison between donors and United Way.

Throughout their career, Lesley has demonstrated expertise in various HR domains, including talent management, compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, and training and development.

Lesley Giles, SPHR, holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Human Resources Development, which they earned from Towson University. Lesley attended Towson University from 1993 to 1997. Prior to their time at Towson, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, with a specialization in General Management, from Bowie State University. Lesley completed their undergraduate studies at Bowie State University from 1989 to 1992.
