Chai S.

Chai S. is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in gender-based violence advocacy and policy development. Currently serving as Associate General Counsel at the Peace Corps since September 2022, Chai previously held significant roles at USAID from June 2016 to August 2022, including Senior Gender-Based Violence Advisor and Team Lead, providing strategic guidance and expertise across various sectors. Chai's experience also includes teaching domestic violence law as an adjunct professor at American University Washington College of Law and courses on gender-based violence and feminist theories at George Washington University. Additionally, Chai founded and served as Executive Director of Collective Action for Safe Spaces, advocating for safer public environments, and has held leadership positions in various organizations focused on supporting survivors of violence. Chai holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA.
