David Fleisig

Chief, Overseas Operations

David Fleisig is an experienced leader in international operations and safety, currently serving as Chief of Overseas Operations at the Peace Corps since May 2003. In this role, David directs the agency's response to violent crimes affecting Peace Corps Volunteers across over 60 countries, providing expert guidance on threat analysis, investigations, and mitigation strategies. Previously, David worked as the Chief of Investigations and Crime Statistics within the same organization and served as the Regional Safety and Security Officer for South America, Central America, and Caribbean programs. Before joining the Peace Corps, David held the position of Deputy Director at Save the Children US in El Salvador and worked as Associate Peace Corps Director in the same country. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from John Carroll University, where studies were completed between 1989 and 1995.
