Jennifer Freeman has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Jennifer is currently the Chief Executive Officer at PeaceGeeks since April 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Visiting Fellow at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) starting in September 2019. Jennifer has also held several roles at the University of San Diego Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, including Associate Director, Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice from July 2017 to March 2020, Professor of Practice from September 2015 to March 2020, Senior Program Officer, Women Peace and Security from April 2014 to June 2017, and Program Officer, Women PeaceMakers Program from February 2010 to April 2014. Previously, they worked as a Peace Writer at the Kroc School at the University of San Diego from September 2008 to November 2009. Jennifer also has experience as a Program Coordinator at Positively Africa from August 2007 to May 2008, a Project Manager at International Medical Corps from July 2006 to June 2007, a Project Coordinator at Right To Play from February 2004 to February 2005, and in a Protection role at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency from June 2004 to September 2004.
Jennifer Freeman completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science at the University of Victoria from 1997 to 2002. Jennifer then pursued a Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at Ulster University from 2005 to 2006. Jennifer later enrolled at the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences, where they are currently a candidate for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Leadership, a program they have been attending since 2015 and is expected to graduate in 2020. Additionally, they briefly studied Political Science and Government at The University of Bonn from 1998 to 1999, although no degree is specified for this period.
