Prior roles include Executive Vice President of Commercial Lending at Foothills Community Bank from August 2006 to March 2017, Senior Vice President at Habersham Bank from May 1989 to August 2006, and Vice President at First National Bank of Gainesville from August 1981 to May 1989. Michael's educational background includes a Finance degree from the University of North Georgia, a Graduate degree in Bank Investments and Financial Management from the University of South Carolina, and a Graduate degree in Retail Bank Management from the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management.
