Matt Buckler serves as an Authority Member for the Peak District National Park since June 2023 and has been with the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust since August 2018, holding multiple leadership roles including Director of Natural Solutions and Head of Wilder Landscapes and Nature Recovery Networks. Matt holds responsibilities for the development of Living Landscapes in the Trent Valley and Dark Peak regions, focusing on reserve management and public engagement. Additionally, Matt is a District Councillor for the Green Party of England and Wales since May 2019 and previously managed upland restoration projects as Programme Manager for the Moors for the Future Partnership. Earlier experience includes managing historic estates for the National Trust and working on land management projects for Dorset Wildlife Trust. Matt holds an MSc in Habitat Creation and Management from Staffordshire University and a BSc in Pure and Applied Ecology from The University of Sheffield.
