Granger Morgan is the Hamerschlag University Professor of Engineeringat Carnegie Mellon University, where he is Co-Director of the Carnegie Mellon Electricity Industry Center. He is a member of the National Academy of Science where he serves as the co-chair of the Report Review Committee. He is also a member of the Amereican Academy of Arts and Science. He serves on the Energy Advisory Committee of PNNL. He is previous chair of both EPA’s Science Advisory Committee and of the Advisory Council of the Electric Power Research Institute.

Pearl Street Technologies, Inc. is an early stage startup out of Carnegie Mellon developing next-generation software for the electric utility industry. Pearl Street Technologies, Inc. is based in Pittsburgh, PA and backed by the National Science Foundation, ARPA-E, the Department of Energy, and Incite Labs, they are building tools to make the grid more reliable, more secure, and greener. They development activities include software for grid planning with high renewable penetration, parallelized optimization tools to find the most cost and energy efficient dispatch of grid resources, and solutions to detect targeted cyber attacks on the grid.
