Matt Buchanan

Matt Buchanan serves as the President of the Pearland Economic Development Corporation since January 2010, overseeing an $11 million annual budget and leading significant economic development projects in one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., including attracting a global biotech company and a major healthcare headquarters. Prior to this role, Matt held the position of Senior Director of Business Attraction and Retention at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, where a division achieved a 500% increase in job creation and capital investment. Matt also served as Senior Vice President at the Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce, establishing a regional economic development partnership, and began a career in safety management at ConAgra Foods. Matt holds an MBA from Creighton University and a BBA in Business Administration from the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa, as well as a BS in Political Science from the University of Iowa.
