Ommar Hannan

Ommar Hannan serves as the Vice President of Finance for English Language Learning (ELL) at Pearson since January 2024. Previously, Ommar held the position of Group Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Director at Johnson Matthey from October 2020 to December 2023. Ommar's extensive experience at Shell from November 2001 to October 2020 includes roles such as Head of Internal Audit Finance and Group Head of FP&A, where responsibilities encompassed global finance audits and strategic financial management for the Shell Group. Earlier in Ommar's career, positions included Regional CFO for Middle East & Central Asia, CFO for Saudi Arabia & Shell Lubricant Company, and management roles that supported the company's financial performance across various sectors. Ommar began the career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Management Consultant, providing audit and tax advisory services to leading FTSE100 firms. Ommar holds an ACA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, along with multiple data science degrees from Udacity and a first-class BSc Honours in Computer Science from Brunel University of London.
