Alison Poot has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Alison began their career as a Student Counsellor at the University of Tasmania in 2003, where they provided support and guidance to students until 2005. Alison then transitioned to the role of Head of the First Year and Retention Team at the same university from 2006 to 2007. In 2008, Alison took on the role of Project Manager at the University of Tasmania. After a year, they joined PebblePad - The Learning Journey Platform in 2010 as a Senior Director for the APAC region. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing customer success and later took on the additional responsibility of leading the global customer success team until the present year.

Alison Poot completed their education with two degrees from La Trobe University. From 1989 to 1992, they pursued a Bachelor of Behavioral Science (Hons) in Psychology. Following this, they pursued a Master of Psychology (MPsych) in Counselling from 1995 to 1996.
