Alok Nandi

Alok Nandi has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Alok has worked as a Creative Director at Architempo since 2004, where they specialize in narrative and strategic design for complex issues. Alok has also designed products and exhibitions, showcasing their talents in design and innovation.

In 2014, Alok Nandi joined the Institut Paul Bocuse as a Lecturer/Professor, where they shared their knowledge and expertise in their field. Alok later became a Partner and Managing Director at Spread Design and Innovation Pvt. Ltd. in 2019. In this role, they focused on integrated design, aiming to create impact in both the physical and digital realms.

Alok Nandi has also made significant contributions to the field of Interaction Design (IxD) through their involvement with the IxDA. Alok has held various positions within the organization, including Past President, Local Leader, President, Board Director, and Vice President. Alok has worked towards creating compelling relationships between people and interactive systems, championing the importance of intangible experiences.

Beyond their main roles, Alok Nandi has founded several initiatives, including PechaKucha Brussels, coCreationcamp, and Klabfab. Alok has also worked as a visiting lecturer, strategic designer, and management consultant for various organizations.

Alok Nandi's education history is as follows:

- From 2014 to 2025, Alok Nandi obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Linguistics - Cognitive Sciences from Université libre de Bruxelles, specifically from the Faculté de Lettres, Traduction et Communication.

- In 1997, Alok Nandi received a SAGAs interactive fiction Certificate from Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München (HFF München).

- In 1994 and 1995, Alok Nandi pursued a degree in Film / Media from EAVE European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs.

- Between 1989 and 1993, Alok Nandi completed a Licencié en Philosophie et Lettres degree from Université libre de Bruxelles with a focus on Film Studies, Scenario Analysis & Writing ELICIT.

- From 1987 to 1989, Alok Nandi earned an MsC degree in Management from Solvay Business School (VUB).

- Alok Nandi received an Engineer's Degree in Ecole Polytechnique / Engineering from Université libre de Bruxelles from 1983 to 1989.

- In 1982 and 1983, Alok Nandi studied Special Math at Collège Saint-Michel.

- Alok Nandi completed Humanités (Bac) with a focus on Latin-Sciences from E P P B between 1976 and 1982.

In addition to the above education history, Alok Nandi obtained a SAGAs Interactive Fiction certification in January 1997 from Munich Film School.
