Zahra Mawani

Zahra Mawani, MED, BEd, BA, is an experienced educator currently serving as a Long-Term Occasional Teacher with the Peel District School Board since May 2022, where responsibilities include designing and implementing secondary school courses and developing culturally-relevant curriculum. Prior experience includes teaching English as a Second Language at Chengdu Normal University, where course content was tailored to student interests, and providing individualized learning experiences. As a Junior Policy Analyst for Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, Zahra conducted policy research and analysis to inform policy recommendations. Zahra holds a Master's degree in Education from York University, a Bachelor of Education from the same institution, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Ottawa, among other qualifications in early childhood education.
