Frontend Engineer at Pefin

Pietro Martini has been working in the technology and publishing industries since 2013. In 2013, they were an Editorial Intern at Archipelago Books. In 2014, they worked as an Administrative Intern at Seven Stories Press and a Production Intern at New York University Press. At NYU Press, they used InDesign to format and apply corrections to non-fiction manuscripts and produced print production budgets for three titles. Pietro also managed social media platforms to inform clients of upcoming events and discounted offers. In 2015, they were a Curriculum Development Assistant at the Ross Institute, where they delegated responsibilities to and resolved the uncertainties of a thirty member out-of-house production team. Pietro also oversaw wire framing and the implementation of HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery AJAX requests and animations for the project's Content Management System. In 2016, they were a Web Developer at Oxford Exchange, where they developed static sites and Wordpress custom themes with HTML5, CSS3, SASS, PostCSS, and jQuery for in-house and local clients. In 2017, they were a Front End Developer at The Berman Group, where they were the lead front end developer for new website projects and dynamically generated website content with Wordpress page and custom post types on the front end of the website using AJAX, jQuery, and JavaScript. Finally, in 2018, they were a Frontend Engineer at Pefin, where they defined SASS component architecture for React project, employed BEM methodology to enhance readability and reduce the need for selector specificity, and defined React Higher Order Components to abstract shared functionality throughout different elements. Pietro also wrote Redux middleware to handle side effects such as API calls.

Pietro Martini attended Dev Bootcamp from 2016 to 2016, where they studied Ruby on Rails, jQuery, React Native, HTML5, CSS3, and SQL. Prior to that, they attended New York University from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and History.
