Dr. Luis Azpurua has a long and varied history of work experience. Luis has been a Medical Director at Clínica Santiago de León since 2022, Chief Innovation Officer at PEGASI MED since 2020, Assistant Professor: Medical Basis of Bioengineering at Universidad Simón Bolívar since 2006, Medical Director at Digisalud since 2018, Leader of the Ambulatory & Ancillary Services, President of the Bioethical Committee, and Educational & Clinical Research Director at Grupo Médico Santa Paula since 2014, Member of the Board of Directors at Asociación Civil Infantil Ronald McDonalds de Venezuela since 2009, Member of the Board of Directors and Medical Director at Hospital San Juan de Dios de Caracas since 2007, Medical Manager at Hospital San Juan de Dios since 2007, and Project Manager at VWL Servicios Médicos since 2000.

Luis Azpurua, MD received their MD from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1990. Luis then pursued a Specialist degree in Pediatrics from the same institution from 1992 to 1995. In 1996 to 1998, they completed a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine program at the Hospital de Niños de Caracas. In 2001, they completed a Health Management program at IESA. In 2014, they obtained a Boiethics degree in Bioethics/Medical Ethics from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. In addition, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree from Liceo Los Arcos in 1979. Luis has also obtained several edX certificates, including an Honor Code Certificate for Nutrition and Health Part 2: Micronutrients and Malnutrition in 2016, an Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Nutrition – Food for Health in 2015, an edX Certificate for Improving Global Health: Focusing on Quality and Safety in 2014, an Honor Code Certificate for Epidemics, an Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Applied Biostatistics: Statistics for Medical Research, and an Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Bioethics.
