Carly Underwood Smerz

Carly Underwood Smerz, CMP, is an accomplished events professional with extensive experience in managing and directing high-profile corporate events. Currently serving as the Director of Events at Pegasystems since September 2021, Carly previously held the position of Manager of Corporate Events at BNY Mellon, where leadership included overseeing major client conferences and transitioning a key event to a virtual format during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to that, Carly excelled as Director of Events at IHI, managing a team and a diverse portfolio of over 100 events annually. Additional experience includes roles in sales and event management across various prestigious organizations, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics.
