Pehli Kiran Schools
An initiative of the JAQ Education Trust, the Pehli Kiran Schools. Ensuring children's right to education who belong to marginalized communities since 1995. We are striving to see every child in the classroom, not on the streets. Objectives: - Promote literacy and primary education among children from low-income households through the Pehli Kiran - Schools (PKS) - a network of 9 non-formal community-based schools. - Safeguard children’s health, instill an appreciation for basic human values and enhance their access to the formal school system - Promote awareness-raising and social mobilization among the school communities towards self-help - Promote livelihood opportunities for youth from these unserved communities.
