PTT on vuonna 1979 perustettu soveltavaa taloustutkimusta tekevä yleishyödyllinen yhdistys. 

PTT:n toiminnan tarkoituksena on kansantalouden tasapainoisen kehityksen edistäminen. Yhdistys tuottaa yhteiskunnallisen keskustelun ja päätöksenteon kannalta olennaista ja luotettavaa tutkimustietoa.  

Vahvoja osaamisalueitamme ovat asunto-, puu-, ruoka- ja työmarkkinat sekä politiikkaohjaus.
Julkaisemme kahdesti vuodessa ennusteet kansantalouden, maa- ja elintarviketalouden sekä metsäsektorin kehityksestä, ja kerran vuodessa asuntomarkkinoista. Julkaisemme vuosittain myös yli 15 erilaista tutkimusraporttia, työpaperia, policy briefiä ja muuta julkaisua. 

Talossa työskentelee yhteensä noin 25 ekonomistia ja tutkijaa kolmessa tutkimusryhmässä. Tutkijamme ovat erityisalojensa arvostettuja asiantuntijoita, ja he antavat säännöllisesti lausuntoja lainvalmistelun sekä päätöksenteon tueksi.

Visiomme on uudistuva Suomi, jossa päätöksenteko perustuu luotettavalle tutkimustiedolle.

Pellervo Economic Research is an independent applied economics research institute and a registered non-profit organization. Our research is policy-oriented and focuses on five key themes: Globalization and regional development, Food, Forestry, Housing, and Welfare. PTT also publishes a short-term forecast combining international, domestic and regional developments and detailed forecasts for the agricultural, food, forest and wood sectors. A notable characteristic of PTT is its ability to investigate these issues from the perspective of regional economy.
