Jasmine Brar

School Trustee - Ward 3 at Pembina Trails School Division

Jasmine, along with her husband, two children and family dog Teddy, have lived in Ward 3, Waverley West, in the Pembina Trails School Division for the past 10 years. Jasmine immigrated from India with her mother and two sisters and attended a public school in the Pembina Trails School Division. Her two children have also attended schools within the division. Jasmine has completed a certificate program from Red River Community College, University of Manitoba, University of Florida, and Robertson College to further her professional development journey.

Jasmine is currently employed by the University of Manitoba as a Department Manager within the Student Counselling Center. This role has allowed Jasmine to gain extensive experience in management, human resources, and administration. In her role she is directly involved in department budget management, hiring staff and day to day operations of the department.

Jasmine has an extensive background in grassroots community activism and volunteer work. She currently is serving as the Acting President of the South Winnipeg Community Centre, and as President of the Prairie Pointe Neighborhood Association, which she co-founded in response to growing community needs. As president and a member of the executive team of the neighborhood association, Jasmine has successfully fundraised and lobbied various levels of government for improvements within the community. She is also a member of International Association of Administrative Professionals.
