Stu Nixon is a new addition to the Pembina Trails School Division Board of Trustees. He recently retired from teaching after a thirty-five-year career; the last twenty years having been at Oak Park High School. While there, he ran a very successful football program. Stu believes that students are more engaged as learners when they feel connected to their school community. That belief motivated his commitment to extra-curricular programming.
Stu has resided in Charleswood for the past eighteen years. Both of his daughters attended and graduated from schools in the Pembina Trails School Division.
Stu’s priority as school trustee is to collaborate with the board and senior administration team to sustain a culture that welcomes all learners in a safe environment which promotes diversity and inclusion of all students, staff, and community members. His goal is that all students enter Pembina Trails buildings feeling connected to their educational community, expecting success as learners and enjoy their day.
