Shannon McElroy has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries.
Shannon started their career as a Language Arts Teacher at Richards Middle School, where they taught sixth and eighth-grade students and implemented project-based learning strategies. Shannon also provided training on The Accelerated Reader adaptive reading program.
Following their teaching role, Shannon worked as an Executive Assistant to the President at Four Square Productions. In this position, they managed the president's communications, travel plans, and office schedule. Shannon also developed a company-wide timesheets management system and oversaw the production of marketing collateral.
Shannon then joined EdVISION Corporation as an Assessments and Curriculum Specialist, where they developed content for customizable standards alignment and assessment products. Shannon improved product accuracy by integrating national standards and implementing Bloom's Taxonomy framework.
After that, Shannon worked at Scantron Corporation as the Assessments and Curriculum Content Manager for ELA. Shannon managed all content for top-selling products and oversaw a team of curriculum specialists. Additionally, they developed training materials for clients such as superintendents, principals, and teachers.
Shannon also had a role as a Content Developer at Parent Tutor Corporation, where they designed activities and tutorials for grades K-8 and managed the schedule for content creation and editing. Shannon developed language arts content for all products.
Shannon then served as the Director of Administration at Putnam History Museum, where their responsibilities included office administration, project management, and staffing. Shannon designed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve employee performance and eliminate overlaps in department responsibilities.
In their freelance role as a Writer and Editor, Shannon worked for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Bedford/St. Martin's, CETE, and Scantron. Shannon developed assessment passages and revised content for various assessment products and literature.
For StarrMatica Learning Systems, Inc., Shannon worked as a Freelance Content Developer, designing standards-aligned assessment items and developing reading comprehension supports for science tutorial products.
Most recently, Shannon worked at Zana Construction and Pence Construction. At Zana Construction, they served as a Project Administrator, fulfilling general contractor requests and introducing a task management system to improve workflow and communication. Shannon also developed various standardized forms. At Pence Construction, Shannon held the position of Senior Project Support Lead.

Shannon McElroy obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with a focus on English from Millersville University of Pennsylvania during the period of 1987 to 1991.
