Skylar Coakley is an experienced fundraising professional currently serving as the Individual Giving Manager at PENCIL since October 2022. In this role, Skylar oversees donor acknowledgments, tracking, strategic fundraising solicitation, and CRM maintenance while fostering relationships with potential and confirmed donors. Prior experience includes working as an Executive Administrative Assistant at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts, where Skylar was involved in non-profit fundraising and class production. As a Brand Ambassador for Highland Brewing Company, Skylar enhanced customer experience and executed sales in the retail store and bar. Earlier experience as an Administrative Assistant at Creative Connections LLC included establishing organizational systems. Skylar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Wellness from the University of North Carolina Asheville.

PENCIL
PENCIL is the premier organization linking community resources to Metro Nashville Public Schools. Thanks to dedicated PENCIL Partners, students work in state-of-the-art laboratories alongside teachers and industry professionals. Teachers design lesson plans that cross the traditional boundaries of education - like linking data points in algebra with students' Agricultural Science classes. Dedicated volunteers regularly donate one lunch hour a week to help a child improve his or her reading comprehension. Businesses work to create an engaged and excited student pipeline interested in their industry through internships and job shadowing. PENCIL also operates free teacher resource centers where Metro Nashville Public School teachers can shop free once a quarter to help supplement their classrooms.
