Madeline Ryan is currently a Clinical Research Intern at the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute, working under Dr. Diana Schendel on autism public health genetics research as part of the Drexel Summer Scholars Program. In addition, Madeline serves as a Special Events Captain for Accessibility & Inclusivity with Penn State THON™, ensuring events are inclusive while promoting DEI efforts, and holds the position of Rules & Regulations Event Safety Captain. As a Volunteer Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line, Madeline employs psychosocial techniques to assist individuals in crisis. Previous experience includes a Clinical Research Internship at Penn Medicine, where Madeline investigated the impact of genetic testing on cancer care, and roles as a Learning Assistant in the Penn State Mathematics Department, a Rules and Regulations Security Leader for THON, and a Senior Lifeguard at Hershey’s Mill. Madeline is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Penn State University, expected to graduate in 2025.
