Amanda Smith

Amanda Smith currently serves as the Director of K-12 Engagement and Assistant Teaching Professor of Science Education at Penn State University, where Amanda has worked since June 2014. In addition to her roles at Penn State, Amanda is an Advisory Council Member for the Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool Youth Development Network (PSAYDN) since September 2024 and previously held the position of Executive Director at ENGINE of Central PA from April 2019 to September 2023. Amanda's earlier experience includes serving as the Science Department Chair at Loudoun County Public Schools from August 2010 to June 2012. Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology from Penn State University (2001-2005) and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Mason University (2007-2009).
