John Yen

John Yen is a Professor-in-Charge of Data Science and AI at the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University, where they conduct research on identifying patterns within large-scale dynamic social networks. Their work focuses on understanding social interactions, particularly among cancer survivors, to enhance emotional support and behavior change, as well as developing models for decision-making in cyber security. Previously, they held several leadership roles at Penn State and served as a Research Scientist at USC's Information Sciences Institute. John holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and has contributed significantly to the field with a patented agent-based model for proactive information sharing.
