Bhavya Surapaneni is a dedicated engineering student at the University of Pennsylvania, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Systems Science and Engineering. Currently serving as Co-President and Project Lead & Engineer for Penn Engineers Without Borders, Bhavya is actively involved in designing a pour-flush latrine system for a school in Guatemala. Additional leadership roles include Corporate Dinner & Relations Co-Director and Gender Equity & Advocacy Director for the UPenn Society of Women Engineers. Bhavya contributes as an AI Regulation & Policy Research Assistant for Professor Sarah Hammer at The Wharton School and as a representative for the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences with the Penn Undergraduate Assembly. Experience in research and engineering is further complemented by an internship in Risk Engineering & Property Risk Control at WTW, a research internship at the Colorado Attorney General's Office, and participation as a delegate at the National Youth Science Camp. Prior engagement also includes a Policy, Constituent, and Social Media internship with the Colorado General Assembly.
