John Chater

John Chater has extensive experience in the legal field, with a particular focus on banking and finance. John began their career as a Solicitor at Bond Pearce in September 2010, before moving on to Lawrence Graham LLP as an Associate in March 2012. In May 2014, they joined Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co as an Associate before transitioning to Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP in December 2014 as an Associate. John was promoted to the role of Senior Associate in April 2016 and became a Partner in April 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Banking and Finance at Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP, a role that they assumed in April 2023.

John Chater attended Abingdon School from 1995 to 2003. From 2003 to 2006, they pursued a degree in Geography at the University of Southampton.
