Michael Siget has extensive experience in legal counsel and legislative roles. Michael is currently the Executive Director and Legal Counsel of the House Health Committee for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In this position, they analyze bills, drafts legislation, and meets with stakeholder groups. Prior to this, they served as Senior Legal Counsel for the Pennsylvania Medical Society, where they provided legal advice and guidance, drafted regulatory comments and proposed legislation, and monitored regulations. Michael also worked as Assistant Counsel for the Pennsylvania Department of Health, where they counseled multiple bureaus and provided oversight for publishing notices. Earlier in their career, Siget worked as an Assistant District Attorney and handled various criminal cases, including DUI and theft offenses. Michael also has experience as a Law Clerk for the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County, where they conducted research, drafted opinions, and handled PFA motions and hearings.
Michael Siget attended Grove City College from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government with a minor in Business Administration. Michael then pursued further education at the University of Pittsburgh, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the School of Law between 1998 and 2002. In addition to their law degree, they also obtained a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) from 1999 to 2002. Michael Siget is also certified in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace, obtained from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Michael is licensed to practice law both in Ohio, obtained from the Supreme Court of Ohio in March 2014, and in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, obtained from the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in October 2002.
