David Abbey has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2008, they worked as an Interactive Production Co-ordinator at Cinder Creative, where they collaborated with clients to identify business objectives and design opportunities. From 2011 to 2012, they served as a Digital Solutions & Client Integration Manager at Tiipz, a mobile engagement platform, where they played a crucial role in client project pitches and delivery. In 2013, they joined Thinkingbox as a Senior Digital Producer and later became the Director of Production, managing a project portfolio and developing project plans. David then worked at Strutta as the Head of Professional Services, where they served as the main client point of contact and managed project requirements. In 2014, David worked at Mobio as a Sr. Strategic Accounts Director, focusing on fan-directed content. The following year, they became the Head of Accounts & Project Management at VentureWeb Design Ltd, working with leading brands in the adventure sport industry. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at Payfirma as the Director of Partnerships and later as the Manager of Partnerships & Integrations. In 2021, David was selected as a C100 Fellow and Member, and in 2022, they became a Limited Partner at GTMfund, an early-stage fund focused on B2B SaaS startups. Currently, they are the CEO and Co-Founder of Penny AI, an AI-powered virtual assistant for direct sales consultants.
David Abbey attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 2009 to 2011. During this time, they obtained a Diploma of Technology with Honours in Marketing Management & Entrepreneurship.
