Jonathon S. Jacobson

Jonathon S. Jacobson has been a member of our Board since February 2021. Mr. Jacobson is the non-executive Chairman of HighSage Ventures, a private investment firm formed in 2019 to exclusively manage his family’s assets and those of the One8 Foundation.

Mr. Jacobson was the Co-Founder, Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Highfields Capital Management from 1998 until 2021, when it returned all remaining capital to investors. Highfields was a Boston-based investment management firm, which managed approximately $12 billion globally on behalf of endowments, foundations, pension funds and other institutional investors.

Prior to founding Highfields, Mr. Jacobson spent eight years as a senior portfolio manager at Harvard Management Company, which is responsible for investing Harvard University's endowment.

Mr. Jacobson is a member of the Lone Pine Capital Advisory Board. He and his wife Joanna are also co-trustees of the One8 Foundation and are involved in numerous philanthropic causes. He is a Lifetime Trustee of the Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland, where he also serves on the Investment Committee.

Mr. Jacobson served as a Director of iHeartMedia and iHeartCommunications, from 2008 to 2019. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Brandeis University and as the Chairman of the International Board of Trustees of Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies. He served on the Investment Committee of the Weizmann Global Endowment Management Trust and as a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors at the Harvard Business School.

Mr. Jacobson received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1987 and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1983.
