Giles Fairhead has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Giles is currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer at Pension Insurance Corporation since March 2017. Prior to that, they worked at PwC from November 2015 to March 2017, specializing in Insurance Risk and Regulation. Before PwC, Giles held positions at the Bank of England as the Head of Retail Life Insurance, Prudential Regulation Authority from July 2013 to November 2015, and as a Manager at the Prudential Regulation Authority from April to July 2013. Giles also worked at the Financial Services Authority from June 2006 to March 2013, where they managed teams responsible for the regulation of various insurance companies. Giles started their career as a Product Specialist at Silverdale Scientific from January 2004 to May 2006 and was a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham from June 1998 to December 2004, conducting biochemistry research on human heart muscle contraction.
Giles Fairhead obtained a BSc in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Birmingham between 1995 and 1998. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biosciences at the same institution, completing it from 1998 to 2002.
