Rod Bryn-Hussey

Rod Bryn-Hussey has extensive experience in risk management and regulatory affairs within the insurance industry. Rod is currently the Head of Regulatory Risk Affairs and Enterprise Risk Management at Pension Insurance Corporation plc, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Regulatory Risk Affairs at the same company starting from September 2021.

Before joining Pension Insurance Corporation plc, Rod worked at PwC UK for several years. Rod held various positions during their time there, including Director and Senior Manager. In these roles, they helped insurance companies navigate regulatory challenges, climate change, and wider risk management issues. Rod was involved in projects such as climate change proposals, response to COVID-19, risk and compliance effectiveness reviews, and due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions. Rod also played a leadership role, managing a team of 35 staff and acting as a mental health champion.

Prior to PwC UK, Rod worked as an Enterprise Risk Actuary at Friends Life UK, where they focused on risk and capital management. Rod also gained experience as a Consultant at BaxterBruce, specializing in risk and capital management consultancy.

Rod's early career includes roles at The Phoenix Group, where they worked as a Senior Actuarial Analyst and Actuarial Analyst. In these positions, they worked on Solvency II policy development, decision support, and reporting.

Rod Bryn-Hussey obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Economics from Loughborough University between the years 2003 and 2006. Prior to that, they attended St Columba's College from 1998 to 2003. Later, they pursued an MSc in Finance and Management, specializing in Organizational Leadership, from Loughborough University during the academic year 2006-2007.
