Vivian D. Wesson has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Vivian D. is currently working as the Executive Vice President & General Counsel, as well as the Corporate Secretary at The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Vivian D. joined Chief, a private network for women executives, as a Member in 2022. Prior to that, Wesson spent a significant part of their career at Marsh & McLennan Companies, where they held positions such as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel and Senior Assistant General Counsel. Vivian D. also worked at Guy Carpenter as a Senior Vice President and Assistant Secretary. Wesson began their career as an Associate at O'Melveny & Myers LLP, gaining expertise in transactional practice. Vivian D. started their professional journey as the Manager of the Real Estate Paralegal Group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates.

Vivian D. Wesson holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Fordham University School of Law, which they obtained between 1997 and 2000. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History at Pomona College, attending from 1989 to 1993. In 1987 to 1989, they received a diploma from Phillips Exeter Academy. Additionally, they have an Associate in Reinsurance certification from the Insurance Institute of America, obtained in July 2008.
