Briggite Gianella Ocampo Lagos currently serves as a member at Reforge since January 2023 and acts as the COO and co-founder of PEOPL, which assists chronic disease patients in completing high-cost treatments. Previously, Briggite held roles in Clinical Studies Operations at Roche from May 2021 to July 2022 and was the founder and CEO of Ukumari Macerados from January 2020 to July 2022. Briggite contributed to BioUTEC from October 2019 to May 2021 as the head of the Journal Club, aiming to enhance scientific discourse among students, and participated in research projects at UTEC focused on virtual tools for bioprocesses. As a student spokesperson in bioengineering at UTEC, Briggite represented the concerns of fellow students and was involved in the Hult Prize Foundation as part of a team that developed a startup aimed at sustainable wood production. Briggite completed a degree in Bioengineering with a focus on Biotechnology from UTEC and studied Product Management at Colectivo23.

Did you know that chronic disease care represents 90% of all global health spending, or USD 11 trillion each year? Our vision is to establish the first global ecosystem that facilitates healthcare access for communities dealing with chronic diseases. Currently, PEOPL operates exclusively in Mexico and has become the leading digital oncology clinic in Latin America. The cancer care landscape is often hindered by a lack of guidance, distrust in healthcare systems, and inadequate medical education, leading to suboptimal health outcomes and a reduced quality of life. At PEOPL, patients are offered a monthly subscription for unlimited specialized oncology care, covering everything from oncology consultations to nutritional advice. When a patient requires on-site care or additional services, we leverage our extensive clinical provider network. This allows us to offer a broad range of services nationwide, from medications and treatments to surgeries. PEOPL started as a compassionate, conversational virtual nurse that focused on educating cancer patients, promoting treatment adherence, and providing emotional support. In just eighteen months, we developed one of the world's most sophisticated and unique chatbots for cancer care. Consequently, we have engaged with over 2,500 patients across 13 countries, achieved a 48% daily active users to monthly active users ratio, and maintained a 70% retention rate in the first six months of use. This initial experience deepened our understanding of the population and helped us build a community that later played a pivotal role in reshaping our approach. We are committed to continual evolution and learning from our mistakes. Our team is dedicated to improving the quality of life and health outcomes for the majority of people living with cancer.
