Peter Montgomery

Peter Montgomery is an experienced professional with a strong background in writing and communications, particularly focused on politics, religion, and advocacy. Since March 1994, Peter has been a Senior Fellow at People For the American Way, contributing to the Right Wing Watch blog and authoring longer reports. Peter previously held the position of Vice President for Research and Communications at the same organization, following 15 years of staff experience. Currently, Peter serves as an Associate Editor for Religion Dispatches, where writings center around the intersection of religion and LGBT issues. Additionally, since March 2009, Peter has been self-employed in freelance writing, editing, and consulting for progressive organizations. Earlier career experience includes serving as Associate Director of Grassroots Organizing at Common Cause and contributing as a reporter and writer to a National Magazine Award-winning publication focused on money and politics. Peter Montgomery earned a Bachelor's Degree in International Economics Theory and Policy from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
