Gondai Dekeza has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Gondai started their career as a Project Support Officer in the Zimbabwe AIDS Prevention and Support Organisation, where they assisted in disseminating the National Behavior Change Program. Gondai then progressed to the role of Program Officer, providing technical leadership in Community Health Systems Strengthening and leading the implementation of the UNFPA-funded Spotlight initiative.
After that, Dekeza worked as a Field Resilience Coordinator for DanChurchAid, coordinating the Urban Social Assistance Programme and supporting food and nutrition projects. Gondai also had a role as a Humanitarian Project Officer at CBM International, where they provided strategic oversight and management for timely delivery of humanitarian projects.
Dekeza then worked as a Lecturer at Solusi University, where they researched, developed lecture notes, supervised research projects, and participated in academic duties. Gondai later became a Project Manager at Un Ponte Per... - UPP, managing a DG ECHO project in Syria.
Currently, Dekeza is the Head of Food Security and Emergency at People in Need, leading all aspects of technical oversight and implementation for food security and emergency response in Syria. Overall, Dekeza has a strong background in humanitarian and development work, with a focus on food security, emergency response, and community health systems strengthening.
Gondai Dekeza's education history is as follows:
From 2010 to 2014, Gondai Dekeza attended a university referred to as "XXX" and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Development Studies, with a field of study in Development Economics and International Development.
In 2017 and 2018, Gondai Dekeza studied at the Women University in Africa, where they earned a Master of Science in Development Studies. Gondai'sfield of study focused on Development Economics and International Development.
From 2019 to 2020, Gondai Dekeza enrolled in Lupane State University and completed a Special Honours Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, focusing on the field of Monitoring and Evaluation Science.
From 2020 to 2021, Gondai Dekeza pursued a Master of Science in Monitoring and Evaluation at Lupane State University, further expanding their knowledge in this field.
In the academic year of 2022 to 2023, Gondai Dekeza is currently enrolled in the University of Zimbabwe, working towards a Master of Arts in Disaster Risk Management Systems. The degree program emphasizes Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management.
In addition to their formal education, Gondai Dekeza has also acquired various certifications. Gondai completed a course on Travel Security at the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) in January 2023. In April 2022, they obtained a Cash and Voucher Assistance Certificate from CALP Network. Gondai Dekeza acquired a Basic Principles of Disability Inclusion in Humanitarian Response certification from the Humanitarian Leadership Academy in August 2021. In July 2021, they completed a Safety and Security Training program offered by International Location Safety. In October 2020, Gondai Dekeza obtained a Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Evaluation Certificate from the Humanitarian Leadership Academy. Gondai received a Project Planning and Management PMD Pro Certificate from the same institution in August 2019. Lastly, in April 2017, they completed a Certificate in Management of National HIV Prevention, Behavior Change Program from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
