Kelli Smith has a strong background in planning, evaluation, and program management. Kelli most recently held the position of Vice President of Planning and Evaluation at People Incorporated of Virginia, where they have been working since August 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Planning and Evaluation at the same company from April 2017 to August 2021.

Before joining People Incorporated of Virginia, Kelli worked as a Policy Analyst at Friends of Southwest Virginia from January 2016 to April 2017. Kelli's career started at Crisis Center, Inc., where they worked as a Community Outreach/Victim Advocacy from July 2011 to May 2012. In this role, they provided education and awareness activities related to sexual assault and coordinated with other community organizations on awareness campaigns.

Kelli Smith pursued their education in sociology, starting at Emory and Henry College from 2007 to 2011. Kelli completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree during this time. Later, from 2012 to 2014, they attended East Tennessee State University, earning their Master of Arts (MA) degree in Sociology.
