Asoka Bandara

Asoka Bandara is a Non-Executive & Independent Director at People's Leasing & Finance. Asoka has extensive experience in IT, project coordination, and team management.

Bandara began their career as an Assistant Manager at Seylan Merchant Group in April 2004. Asoka was part of the Group IT department and worked on various projects, including the implementation of a Document Management System, Workflow Management System, and Pawning System. Asoka was also part of the team that implemented the corporate website, internet banking, HR information system, time attendance, and payroll system.

In their role at Seylan Merchant Group, Bandara also gained experience in procurement and vendor management, LAN and WAN administration, server configuration, and backup handling. Asoka was also responsible for day-to-day IT operations for 19 branches that were connected to the head office.

In 2009, Bandara left Seylan Merchant Group to join People's Leasing & Finance as a Non-Executive & Independent Director. In this role, they are responsible for the overall direction and management of the company.

Asoka Bandara has a GCE O/L from Asoka Vidyalaya in Colombo 10. Asoka also has a Developing Future Managers certification from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) in Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, they have an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University in Business Administration and Management, General, and a PGDM from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Business Administration and Management, General. Bandara also has a BSc. (Hons) in Management Information Systems (BSc(MIS)) from the National University of Ireland, Dublin in Information Technology, as well as a Higher Diploma in Computer Based Information Systems (HDCBS) from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM - Sri Lanka) in Information Technology. Finally, they have a Diploma in Computer Systems Design (DCSD) from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM - Sri Lanka) in Information Technology and a Diploma in Computer Science (DICS) from IDM Computer Studies.
