Sonita started their career as a part-time advisor and then joined foodpanda Deutschland full-time in August. As the Director of People & Org, they were responsible for the foodpanda employee experience, including onboarding 75+ employees per month at the height of hiring.

Under Sonita's leadership, the 23-person People & Org team built out cultural values with the CEO and leadership team. They also shifted their mindset from recruitment (volume, low quality) to talent acquisition (data-driven and high quality). This included launching a new ATS (Greenhouse).

When foodpanda closed its doors in January 2022, Sonita led the creation of a "care plan" to accompany the mass dismissal of 300+ employees in 7 working days. This care plan included HR services to support employees, professional counseling resources, and talent services (career fairs, resume screening, interview trainings, profile sharing).

Sonita reported directly to the CEO and served on the leadership team.

Sonita Uijt de Haag has a dual degree in MBA & MA International Affairs (Southeast Asian Studies) from Ohio University. Sonita is also a Visiting Fulbright Scholar in Management from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Sonita has a Bachelor's Degree in Germanic Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics; Global Leadership from Ohio University. Sonita has also attended the International Summer Institute for Business in Asia at Hong Kong Baptist University and a semester abroad in German Language at the University of Tübingen. Sonita is certified from Management 3.0 in Agility in HR (ICP-AHR), ICAgile in ICAgile Certified Professional - Agility in HR, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in Mental Health First Aider, Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching in Stakeholder Centered Coaching Certification, and Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching in TEAM Stakeholder Centered Coaching.

Their manager is Cara Brennan Allamano, Founding Partner. They are on a team with Lauren Eager - Growth Program Leader, Glen Evans - Advisor, and Rebecca Lundquist - Advisor.
